College and Career Readiness

Dual Enrollment

In addition to taking AP courses or independently studying for CLEP exams, upperclassmen have the option of earning college credit through either on-site or online enrollment in college classes. Harrisburg Area Community College, Lancaster Bible College, Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology and Eastern Mennonite University – Lancaster provide local dual enrollment options. Interested students and families can talk directly with school leaders about programming for these courses. Additional fees are required.

Work-based Learning Program

We believe preparing students with valuable career opportunities is a key part of our work. EMS Seniors have the opportunity to be involved in our Work Study Program. In this program, students can accumulate credit as an intern with local businesses and industries. These opportunities help students seamlessly bridge from High School to the work force. The extent to which a student spends their Senior year preparing for college, career, or service is a decision that is made with the student and the student’s parents.

Ephrata Mennonite School partners with parents and churches to challenge students to become Citizens of the Kingdom of God, who are Lifelong Learners and Team Players, through Diligent Work and Academic Excellence.
