Athletics/Extra-curricular

Extra-curricular activities provide enriching learning experiences for students. At EMS we have many different Extra-curricular activities including athletics, Bible quizzing, and dramatic arts.

  • Athletics – Sports provides an effective way to learn teamwork and to promote physical health. EMS is a PIAA school and is part of Commonwealth Christian Athletic Conference. We teach four different sports each year: Soccer, Basketball, Volleyball, and Softball. In each of these sports, our male and female student athletes, in grades 7-12, have the opportunity to play organized games against other local Christian schools. Additionally, we participate in several organized tournaments around the area.
  • Bible Quizzing – Many of our students participate in competitive Bible Quizzing. Our student quizzers learn over 300 verses per year. They compete in teams around the content and text of each year’s selected Bible Memory. The program culminates in a 3 day quizzing tournament held at Black Rock Retreat in southern Lancaster County.
  • Dramatic Arts – We value students expressing themselves on stage through singing and story telling. Through this medium they bless audiences and find their own voices in society. Therefore, our students are given numerous opportunities to perform in organized concerts and student-directed talent shows.

Ephrata Mennonite School partners with parents and churches to challenge students to become Citizens of the Kingdom of God, who are Lifelong Learners and Team Players, through Diligent Work and Academic Excellence.
